Obout Software Inc. was formed in 2000 in New York state, United States, with Oleg Boutorine as the sole stockholder, as he is today.
Obout is profitable. We do not have any debts, venture capital money or outside investors and we grow steadily.

We are proud to have our components running on hundreds of thousands servers around the world. We specialize only in ASP.NET. ASP.NET is a fascinating technology and we do not do anything else. We have the fastest and best in features Treeview, the fastest and best in features Grid,
the best HTML Editor and other flagship products with innovative features. Our users distinguish our components as
the most intuitive and easy to use. We worked together on large projects with big name companies like Microsoft and many others. We contributed tremendously to Microsoft AJAX Toolkit.

How it started
Oleg developed first treeview for ASP in 1999 because ASP had only rudimentary unusable treeview at that time. Obout ASPTreeview was a huge success. Many other innovations were created by Obout team since then.
Obout can boast of long list of first things that we created and that are hugely popular in the world today. These first things were often the opposite to where industry was going at the time.
We always had and will have a courage not to follow big guys. As an example we ignored Postbacks and embedded AJAX in our controls long time before word AJAX was invented.
Now everybody programs our way. Obout is truly innovative company and we like to lead.

Oleg has M.S. in Electrical Engineering/Computer Science.
He has two sons. Older one, Ilya, takes care of Customer Support (see below) and younger one is Aerospace Engineering student.
Oleg is swimming in ocean all year around at any temperature. He is hiker and snowboarder/skier.

Boris is avid chess player and proud dad of Irina Krush, who won the 1998 U.S. Women's Chess Championship at age 14 (also won U.S. Championship in 2007, 2010, and 2012).
